As MOST of YOU know, I am an autodidact, a self-directed learner. I learn BETTER by doing it on my own, by searching my own articles, relevant to the topic which needs to get learned. Pursuing ALSO my learning by choosing the books which I decide to buy for my Professional Development! This time YOU will see a lot of “I’s” in my blog post here, different from usual, where I mostly use the WE. WHY!? Because it’s ME who is owning MY learning and I decide WHAT is BEST for me, that is working perfectly, I learn MUCH quicker! 😉
Another reason WHY I learn on my own is the BAD quality of courses around where adults are getting treated as pupils (Pedagogy) and NOT as mature persons (Andragogy)!! Aged 62 years (2017), I DON’T want to get treated as a 12 years old in courses, I won’t feel comfortable at all!! It’s about time that EDUcators, TEACHers, Instructors get training about ANDRAGOGY!
WHAT is Andragogy?

FIRST of all, DON’T fear about learning new stuff, even if it feels strange and NOT understandable up from the beginning!There might be strange words in the learning texts which YOU don’t know YET; but by reading different texts you will understand these words and later understanding ALSO the whole! I learnt that way, it takes time on the beginning, BUT later you will learn very quickly! It’s like an exponential curve…

SO, you are a retired EDUcator, TEACHer, Instructor, LEHRENDER: WHAT to do NOW?!!
Well, that was the question I was asking myself when I became retired in 2014. As I did innovation in Modern-EDUcation in my country Luxembourg, there was NO WAY to give that up, BTW! SO, years before my retirement I was already present on Social-Media Twitter (2009), Facebook, and I did Curation (2011), as I was blogging (2010-2011) ALSO, actually very successful with > 197K (197.132) views (November 2019).
Giving up something which was already well known worldwide, was NO OPTION! Well, please check below HOW YOU can stay informed and trying to help others as well; remember: you are NOT anymore in the “School-Cocoon” and MORE FREE to say WHAT YOU want!! YOU DON’T have to go to “stupid” meetings anymore which are time-killing and mostly useless!!!
A BIG difference, use it, please to make a CHANGE!! Others will listen and maybe follow your advice for a BETTER EDUcation, a Modern-EDUcation! Advice: Please check below to follow and to stay Up-To-Date!

NEW Words, Trends to Know and to LEARN about in 21st Century
Are YOU feeling overwhelmed with strange words, NEW trends, when you are reading and following posts, tweets, articles about/and in Social Media!? Well, I can understand YOU!!! There are SO MUCH, if I wouldn’t do curation, I wouldn’t understand it anymore as well, to be honest! 😉 Through my daily curation I see it and I read those articles, from WHERE I learn a lot as an autodidact. WHEN there are some words which I DON’T understand I am going MOSTLY to Wikipedia to find its explication and if NOT sufficient, I use GOOGLE and other online resources to know MORE about it!
For ME it’s THE BEST way (Curation) to learn and to stay up-to-date with my Professional Development! I tried out a lot of different ways after being online since 1998 and believe me, please, it’s the fastes way to keep it UP! 😉 Through Curation I build up my <===> PKM <===> Personal [Professional] Knowledge Management from where I can use it in ANY of my blogs, twitter posts and other Social Media to share it to people willing to learn.

Dynamic Learning
Does your classroom offer one-and-done types of learning activities, or does the learning grow, inspire, and evolve throughout the year and beyond? With digital tools like G Suite for Education that are available 24/7, the learning doesn’t have to stop when the bell rings at the end of class, or when the worksheet is turned in, or even when the school year ends. The learning takes on a life of its own; it becomes dynamic. This concept alone should change the way you think about learning in general and change the way you facilitate learning in the classroom.
Through Curation, Social Media twitter and by building a PLN this is perfectly possible!
BTW : Did YOU actually realize that NOW it’s the PracTICE WHICH is dominating the Real-World before it EVEN is taught by EDUcation, a BIG CHANGE, isn’t it!!! Because of Entrepreneurship (bold actions…) the internet helped to CHANGE the world and flipped EDUcation to bring it MORE close to the needs of the workforce/Industry!!!
The NEW Pedagogy is MORE about the learners, students and to put THEM into the drivers seat; looking to find a Win-Win situation about THE How-To to GET THEM learning together in a team (EVEN outside the School-Cocoon with Social Media…) and to prepare THEM for the workforce/labor/industry by being able for <===> Learning-To-Learn <===> for a Life-Long Learning once out of school!

When we play around with Arduino NANO, NodeMCU, ESP8266 and others it is important (and more comfortable) to make us life as less difficult as necessary. Therefore we will have a look on the How-To, using some helpful tools…
First of all it is a MUST to have “Breadboards” for connecting the components to the micro controller, they exist in different sizes and colours.
Concerning the Power Supply Module for the Breadboard: it delivers 3,3 Volts AND 5 Volts. The 5 volts is the power Supply for Arduino, Nano, etc. and the 3,3 Volts is for OLEDs, RFID…
The advantage of the Power Supply for breadboard: once uploaded the sketch to the Arduino, Nano, ESP8266, etc. you can unplug the USB cable and connect a 9 volts battery (better an 9 Volts accumulator…) through the above mentioned 9 Volt Clips with connector. Now you can much more easily play around and move your prototype…
USB connector is for powering external devices (output only). Do not attempt to use it to power the MB-V2
The Power Supply has jumpers which one can switch from 3,3 V to 5 V. So on one side we place the jumper on 3,3 Volts and on the other side we place the jumper to 5 Volts, so that we have the two different voltages on two different power supply bus.

Practical example:
Please check the picture below where we use a RFID-RC522 and a Arduino NANO: the RFID-RC522 MUST get connected to the 3,3 Volts!! If connected on 5 Volts it would get damaged, actually fried!! The Arduino NANO is connected to the 5 Volts bus.

Tips To Become an Autodidact, Self-Directed Learner
As most of you know already, I am an autodidact, a person who is learning on its own. I can choose WHAT to learn, WHEN to learn, in WHICH order I learn the different topics and HOW quick I will learn! AND especially WHERE I will learn; not necessary in a school, BUT online and from books! That is what makes me learning very quick and to understand it also! As I am getting asked very often (people are astonished about…), so I decided to write this blog post to give some TIPS, how YOU can do also <===>#LEARNing2LEARN for #LifeLongLEARNing <===> with pleasure.

WHY do I mention the word adventure!? Strange, isn’t it? Well LEARNing is an adventure actually as on every day one meets NEW people on Social-Media, especially on twitter, and those people, with different degree of Professional Development, with different degrees, give us to think about WHAT is happening actually on <===> Modern EDUcation <===>, well EDUcation MOSTLY is far behind about WHAT it SHOULD be, BUT there is some hope 😉
THE BIGGEST gap is to switch over from ONLY Theory to MORE PracTICE while using ICT in the courses, as ICT is based on Practice, see my blog posts below please:
THE BIGGEST barrier is STILL that EDUcators TEACHers are STILL feeling being in SUPERIOR positions <===> Hierarchy <===> and NOT on a Win-Win situation with THE students, learners, as it SHOULD be in a Modern-EDUcation!! THEY are NOT anymore THE ONES who have all the knowledge as centuries before because NOW people can ask GOOGLE and the internet to find (nearly) any content they wish!!
ALSO, through curation one follows the NEW TRENDS in LEARNing through Social-Media and one learns a LOT about it, especially when one is multilingual e.g. English, French, German from WHERE come THE BEST posts on Social Media, well Germany NOT so much YET ([Digitalisierung] far behind); the German posts I prefer are coming from Luxembourg…
There are a LOT of NEW (and probably MORE to come…) possibilities with ICT which NO ONE could actually see WHERE ALL THIS is driving to, BUT one MUST consider to follow in an EVER CHANGING world with NEW Technologies and Entrepreneurship…

Concerning the soldering iron, you have two choices: buying a normal 30 Watt soldering iron as a kit or a soldering station which is about 170 €. Up to your budget what you will buy.
Concerning the stripboard: this is ideal for prototyping of new projects.
Resistors have a color-code; you may buy as well for 1,99 € a help to learn to find the value of the resistors as long as you don’t know by heart the how to to know.

Soldering is no magic, there are only some rules to follow to get a perfect soldering which are not difficult at all. You can find a great guide below, please read it.
I would advice you to start with electronic kits as they are delivered with a guide who provides easy to follow steps. Please find below some good addresses from where you can buy them:
Protect YOUR health: Hazardous solder fumes are harmful to your health!! SO, make sure to NOT put your nose over the soldering and to breath, please! NOR to have drinks on the working place and to drink during the soldering where the soldering takes place!! Be VERY carefully ALSO about on How-To handle the soldering iron; it heats up to 150°C-450°C (30 Watt / 80 Watt)!! NEVER touch the soldering iron underneath the insulating part (on the metal) as it may be ignited and you may have severe burns!!!

Modern-EDUcation: FIRST try to understand WHAT it is before taking the wrong path!
Let us be honest: EDUcation is far behind of WHAT it should be able to face the challenges of a modern world which is evolving quicker than WE can follow! Because of ICT everything is nearly possible: NEW professions are emerging through NEW ideas; Entrepreneurship is one of the biggest evolving one. One can’t count anymore the possibilities, nor predict WHAT will be next professions! SO, WHAT does this mean for EDUcation!?
EDUcation can’t follow, nor adapt THAT quickly, without talking about the minds behind WHO don’t want to change as well!!! SO, is there any possibility for students, learners, THEY could be benefiting with and/for an Up-To-Date knowledge!? YES, there is a solution: students and learners should get taught about <===> LEARNing-To-LEARN <===> so that they would be able for <===> Life-Long LEARNing, this is THE BEST way to look for a <===> Long-Term solution <===> as one can’t get ALL the necessary knowledge anymore in schools!!
WE should go on <===> Proactive THINKing <===> to adjust this well known situation and to adapt by teaching the students learners the way of <===> Learning-To-Learn <===> and to encourage them to become autodidacts, self-directed learners! That’s THE BEST way for them to stay <===> Up-To-Date <===> and that’s WHAT is counting in a modern and ever growing society! The workforce/industry needs this to be competitive!

There is a Windows dominance on the market!!! SO, don’t use ONLY Apple products in your school, BUT make for sure that YOUR LEARNers, Students will know and have the skills to work on that “OS”; of course you might use as well iPads! BUT make sure that there is a mix of different “OS” anyway. As educational persons WE have a BIG Responsibility to prepare OUR Students, LEARNers for the future! NO Cherry-Picking allowed!!! NO preferences for #AnyOS#AnyDevice!!! A mixture of THEM YES, orientated about WHAT “OS” is leading the market.

Well, there are some really good books which will help EDUcators TEACHers to understand WHAT Modern-EDU and NEW pedagogy is to be prepared for THE CHANGE; YES it is a BIG CHANGE which might not be easy for lots as THE role of the EDUcators TEACHers will change; NOT having anymore the control, the power, of a classroom BUT being a coach WHO is trying to get a win-win situation TOGETHER with the learners, students. Personally I think that fearing to lose the control and power is the common point for most educating persons for NOT adapting to Modern-EDU!
BUT, THAT is wrong! You will get even more recognized and respected WHEN you play the coach role; my experience over ten (10) years. Put the students in the drivers seat, let them teach also and learn also from them 😉

There are TOO MANY average (Mediocrity) EDUcators TEACHers around, Students and LEARNers need BETTER!!! Educational persons SHOULD read the below curated articles and finding out on WHAT they have to improve, please 😉
As already mentioned in my first phrases of this blog post, with normal training for “Professional Development”, YOU can’t catch UP quickly enough!! SO, are there different ways? YES, by using Social Media, especially Twitter YOU can create a #PLN, a “Personal [Professional] Learning Network” from where YOU can learn already together, even ALSO by using Twitter Chats.
BUT there is ALSO another way: using blogs! Sounds strange? Well, with “WordPress” this is possible as YOU can invite co-authors on the same blog post and coaching over Twitter with “DM” (Direct Messages, called ALSO Private Messages) YOUR co-authors. I do this already since 2007-2008, started it on “Google Knol”, who was discontinued on May 1, 2012 where I was one of the Knol-TOP10-English authors and also Author-of-the-Week in November 2009 with more than 1.4 millions of visits. “Google Knol” is one of LOTS of OTHER products from Google WHO are on the “Google Grave Yard“!

Later I started blogging on WordPress and as I missed it working together with OTHERS, I did my coaching with EDUcators, TEACHers from different countries by inviting THEM to become co-authors on some of my blog posts. I was the editor and THEY were the co-authors, meaning they had a bit restrictions ONLY on WHAT to do with the main blog. SO, THEY learned about the How-To to use blogs (WordPress) through my coaching and ALSO about THE TOPIC WE were writing about; the coaching was done through Twitter “DM’s”; WE used blogs AND Twitter!
I did a LOT of those “Global-Collaboration” on blogging with different co-authors and I encourage everybody to do the same as it is a GREAT experience as one learns from each other 😉
WHAT could be done different while using ICT and NEW Pedagogy

Well, that is a question I get asked very often; it is actually NOT that difficult, it just needs to understand WHAT Modern-EDU is and WHAT are THE tools (NO, NO, NOT Apps…, THEY are ONLY facilitators) WE can use to give OUR Students, LEARNers the necessary skills to survive in an ever changing world.

Well, giving pedagogical and andragocical (Adult Learning) courses since 2002 and being a Life-Long Learning person and interested (and experienced…) in resolving problems and finding NEW ways for BETTER Learning, here below my thoughts, ideas and strategy for a professional approach for #eLeadership and #eSkills. Professional instructors giving tailored courses about #eSkills around the country to form more professional instructors to give those tailored #eSkills courses to others: I remember #eLuxembourg WHO initiated the “Internetstuffen” in Luxembourg; a similar action could get taken!

On a deeper view (#DeepTHINKing) ALL the mentioned actors mentioned above MUST work together to reach that ambitious goal! THUS meaning, anybody SHOULD have the rights AND the possibility to contribute for any countries <===> #eLEADERship <===> run through #eSkills competency! Well, this said I recommend a national website about <===> #eSkills and #eLEADERship <===> with a forum (discussion board…) as well as a discussion on the professional network <===> LinkedIn <===>.
eSkills is an action-call from the EU to make people, especially workers/employees stronger in and with the use of ICT to be competitive on the world market! THIS said, WE MUST look first on WHAT the workforce needs from skills from students/workers/employees, let us have a look:
