NEW Words, Trends to Know and to LEARN about in 21st Century

programmerman-animatedAre YOU feeling overwhelmed with strange words, NEW trends, when you are reading and following posts, tweets, articles about/and in Social Media!? Well, I can understand YOU!!! There are SO MUCH, if I wouldn’t do curation, I wouldn’t understand it anymore as well, to be honest! 😉 Through my daily curation I see it and I read those articles, from WHERE I learn a lot as an autodidact. WHEN there are some words which I DON’T understand I am going MOSTLY to Wikipedia to find its explication and if NOT sufficient, I use GOOGLE and other online resources to know MORE about it!

For ME it’s THE BEST way (Curation) to learn and to stay up-to-date with my Professional Development! I tried out a lot of different ways after being online since 1998 and believe me, please, it’s the fastes way to keep it UP! 😉 Through Curation I build up my <===> PKM <===> Personal [Professional] Knowledge Management from where I can use it in ANY of my blogs, twitter posts and other Social Media to share it to people willing to learn.

Let us FIRST have a look about WHAT Curation and PKM is (first stuff to read and bring into PracTICE) before WE continue with THE strange words and trends later:

SO, let’s have a look on some (actually a lot…) NEW words and trends in EDUcation and WHO will influence EDUcation below, as THEY are actually running in Real-World, let us START first with the words:

Check also, please:

P.S.: The present words with NOT YET a link will get updated later, otherwise I wouldn’t finish this blog post! 😉

Dynamic Learning

Does your classroom offer one-and-done types of learning activities, or does the learning grow, inspire, and evolve throughout the year and beyond? With digital tools like G Suite for Education that are available 24/7, the learning doesn’t have to stop when the bell rings at the end of class, or when the worksheet is turned in, or even when the school year ends. The learning takes on a life of its own; it becomes dynamicThis concept alone should change the way you think about learning in general and change the way you facilitate learning in the classroom.

Through Curation, Social Media twitter and by building a PLN this is perfectly possible!

BTW : Did YOU actually realize that NOW it’s the PracTICE WHICH is dominating the Real-World before it EVEN is taught by EDUcation, a BIG CHANGE, isn’t it!!! Because of Entrepreneurship (bold actions…) the internet helped to CHANGE the world and flipped EDUcation to bring it MORE close to the needs of the workforce/Industry!!!

The NEW Pedagogy is MORE about the learners, students and to put THEM into the drivers seat; looking to find a Win-Win situation about THE How-To to GET THEM learning together in a team (EVEN outside the School-Cocoon with Social Media…) and to prepare THEM for the workforce/labor/industry by being able for <===> Learning-To-Learn <===> for a Life-Long Learning once out of school!

Coaching instead of Teaching in Modern EDUcation

Coaching instead of Teaching in Modern EDUcation

Coaching in Modern EDUcation, the benefits

Framing in EDUcation.

Learners, students learn BETTER when their brain is free, without any framing, thus meaning: include them into the learning process by guiding them through the <===> LEARNing Process <===> instead of teaching ONLY linear lessons WHERE YOU are the BOSS, give up control and look for a Win-Win situation WHERE students, learners have a voice; WHERE THEY can take THEIR OWN responsibility of THEIR LEARNing. Coach THEM (the students, learners) THE How-To of <===> #LEARNing2LEARN <===> because THAT IS <===> #ModernEDU <===> which they need to be prepared for <===> #LifeLongLEARNing <===> by using Social Media, especially Twitter to build THEIR <===> #PLN Personal [Professional] LEARNing Network <===> through Curation combined with Social Media. And through THAT LEARNing-Path THEY will be able to create THEIR OWN #PKM <===> Personal [Professional] Knoledge Management.

students-workforceAND there are also the “Apps“, BUT don’t forget that THEY are ONLY facilitators, they are NOT the change in 21st Century EDUcation; THE change is applying the pedagogy and the 21st Century techniques together. In 21st Century EDUcation it is NOT anymore about the teaching, BUT about the LEARNing and the ===> LEARNing-To-LEARN <=== to give OUR LEARNers, students the necessary knowledge and skills for a ===> Life-Long-LEARNing <=== Once out of school THEY will need constantly to learn to adapt to a very quick changing world!

I suggest to make ===> Coaching <=== with YOUR LEARNers, students where YOU walk through the rows in the classroom by observing THEM and to interact with them ONLY when they need it, learn together with them and create a ===> win-win situation <===, NO hierarchy, BUT a trustful partnership with them. I have done this since 2002 and it works perfect, best results! Find out more below:

In the above mentioned links YOU will see how WE learned together in OUR ===> Global Collaboration Blog <=== by ===> Coaching <=== through using the “DM” (Direct Messages) from Twitter, YES WE used Twitter, it works perfect😉 The same as WE used OUR blogs to communicate and to show OUR LEARNing to others, so that THEY could learn also from us.

The difference between coaching and mentoring

Coaching-mentoring

Click the above image please to access the article.

Please read the following article below who explains in detail:

[START text from “What Makes Coaching and Mentoring Different?“]

Mentoring

Mentoring is much more hands on and interpersonal.  As a leader or supervisor you are working hands on with a team member to facilitate the learning process.  Mentoring is sharing experiences, skills, and knowledge. It often takes place with an individual who is learning something that they have no previous knowledge about and it is something that they will need to master or at least be proficient in. Or it maybe learning how to navigate through an organization or explore new career paths.

Coaching

On the other hand, coaching generally does not focus on hard skill such as accounting, project management, or programming to name a few.  Coaching is a process that helps one to explore what may be holding them back from their true potential and often is focused more on behaviors than skills.

Think of a baseball coach, someone who is with the team and letting them do the work, however he/she will review the team and try to better their abilities across the field.  However imagine the same coach working with his pitcher and trying to teach him how to properly throw a curve ball.  The first scenario is simply coaching the team to raise productivity, and the second is mentoring an individual who is trying to learn a new skill or ability that he/she might not be able to properly learn on his or her own.

LEARNing Path For Professional 21st Century LEARNing By ICT PracTICE Concept

LEARNing2LEARN-2.

.

Over the years I developed and designed a possibility on the How-To use ICT for LEARNing and TEACHing which will prepare the LEARNers, students to fulfill the needs of the working market. It is mostly build up by coaching and NOT TEACHing as a <===> Win-Win situation is in mind and ALSO Collaboration <===> which are key factors in a modern society.

.

.

.

Let us first have a look on the How-To design a course which gives the learners, students some engagement as THEY could reproduce it themselves after YOU showed them the How-To and will bring in some creativity as well 😉

What's this coaching thing about

.

WE will use THAT system as shown on left-hand side shown image, isn’t it 😉 WE will give OUR learners, students autonomy and coaching them to become <===> Life-Long LEARNers <===> by <===> LEARNing To LEARN <===> through collaboration, by using blogging, curation, Social Media and by putting them into the drivers seat. THEY will learn to take responsibility to survive in a bi-directional world (Real World and Virtual World are interacting…) and WE will coaching THEM as well to be responsible <===> Digital CitiZEN <===> by LEARNing about the basics of <===> Cyber Security <===> as well and ALSO about <===> eSkills <===> as it is THEIR world with ALL the problems present which THEY have to fight for and in it!

..

.Learn more:

Sounds like a lot, isn’t it!? It’s actually NOT that difficult when well organized and designed, please check below (it takes some time…):

Here is a road map for visual understanding 😉

My Personal View AND PracTICE

.

.

Learning from others

Please check @yeates_mark on twitter. Click the image to access account!

MY experience described in ONLY some phrases: Give the LEARNers, students (whatever age) the freedom of LEARNing without squeezing THEM into a FRAME and concentrate on guiding them as a coach by analyzing THEIR behavior and show them the How-To to become self-directed learners, autodidacts. SHOW THEM ALSO up from the beginning WHAT THE <===> LEARNing Path <===> will be with design of it and explain THEM that they could design themselves it with a short introduction on the How-To.

.

THEY will learn the ICT-PracTICE which will help them once out of the <===> #SchoolCocoon <===> to be ready for Life-Long LEARNing and to be able to adapt very quickly in the workforce! WHEN YOU show the LEARNers, students <===> WHAT the profit is for THEIR private life <===> YOU will engage them very quickly 😉 AND DON’T teach THEM more as necessary, propose them some links to go further ONLY for those who want!!

.

.

Check ALSO:

.

WHAT’S my message and WHY did I create this blog post!?

Well, I will encourage all youth and also adults, seniors, oldies to become <===>Life-Long LEARNers <===> and staying Up-To-Date with their knowledge, especially concerning their skills in ICT, called NOW <===> #eSkills <===>! In the modern world YOU will change YOUR job probably +/- 12 times in YOUR working career, it is very rare to stay life-long in the same job and/or same company!!! SO… The workforce is looking for people with ICT skills which YOU mostly didn’t learn at school, right!?

YOU won’t have (mostly) the time to learn by visiting courses, right!? START to become Life-Long LEARNers by LEARNing on YOUR OWN pace, by becoming <===> Autodidacts <===> Self-Directed LEARNers. YOU are able to, I did it, so can YOU!? 😉

I found a job because of my ICT eSkills and I am STILL LEARNing on a daily base routine for being Up-To Date with my <===> Professional Development <===>, even being retired NOW! THE pleasure of LEARNing!

I did THE <===> ICT PracTICE <===> and THAT’S WHAT the workforce needs!!!

Due to my eSkills I could share my knowledge AND expertise ALSO with the below mentioned as well as to a broad range of visitors from around the globe!

Check out my blog posts:

AND check my profile below as well, at the bottom of this blog post please! 😉

Reflections on a professional STRATEGY for eSkills-eLeadership

Reflections on a professional STRATEGY for eSkills-eLeadership

.

Evolution of Education: Wordle Logo

.

WHICH Strategy could WE use for professional eLeadership and eSkills!?

Well, giving pedagogical and andragocical (Adult Learning) courses since 2002 and being a Life-Long Learning person and interested (and experienced…) in resolving problems and finding NEW ways for BETTER Learning, here below my thoughts, ideas and strategy for a professional approach for #eLeadership and #eSkills. As YOU might have found out, anything starting WITH a prefix such as “e”; e.g. #eSkills comes from the EU. Let us talk first about the vision that the EU has about #eSkills:

.

Manifesto: get an overview of challenges & opportunities outlined by experts .

[Start text from the MANIFESTO 2015] Much has been written about the digital skills gap and whether Europe is falling behind in the race for digital talent. After some spectacular declines in ICT education enrollments and graduate numbers in the first years of the new millennium, the European Commission developed a long-term e-skills strategy to reverse the worrying trend. Now, and since 2010, the number of ICT students is growing again. The good news today is that there are signs that the rate of growth is quicker than expected. [END text from the MANIFESTO 2015].

Check ALSO on Social Media Twitter <===> #eSkills

First of ALL, to make THIS clear: THERE are more than one actor(s), NOT ONLY EDucation as MOST people would probably think!!! There are (and NEW possibilities as well…):

  • Education (which has a primordial role to play and a HARD task to propose courses on a VERY quick way…)
  • Life-Long Learning activities proposed by the Government(s)
  • And WHAT about #autodidacts, self-learning persons!?
  • And WHAT about the Learning on the workplaces itself!?
  • Private life: Tailored courses at home from professional instructors…
  • Professional instructors giving tailored courses about #eSkills around the country to form more professional instructors to give those tailored #eSkills courses to others:  I remember #eLuxembourg WHO initiated the “Internetstuffen” in Luxembourg; a similar action could get taken!
    • Let us call THEM <===> eSkills Key Instuctors!

On a deeper view (#DeepTHINKing) ALL the mentioned actors mentioned above MUST work together to reach that ambitious goal! THUS meaning, anybody SHOULD have the rights AND the possibility to contribute for any countries <===> #eLEADERship <===> run through #eSkills competency! Well, this said I recommend a national website about <===> #eSkills and #eLEADERship <===> with a forum (discussion board…) as well as a discussion on the professional network <===> LinkedIn <===>.

.

WHAT is done in Luxembourg?

Here below what I know so far:

.

WHAT are eSkills actually!???

eSkills is an action-call from the EU to make people, especially workers/employees stronger in and with the use of ICT to be competitive on the world market! THIS said, WE MUST look first on WHAT the workforce needs from skills from students/workers/employees, let us have a look:

Based on the above I created a concept:

THAT concept is mostly based on the <===> Synthesizing Mind <===> from Howard GARDNER.

Synthesizing Mind-5 Minds for the future

I recommend YOU to read the following books in this order:

  1. 5 Minds for the Future (Howard GARDNER)
  2. FOUR-DIMENSIONAL EDUCATION
  3. The App Generation

.

MUST READ BOOKS

These mentioned books are THE ONES who were guiding me in my Learning and believe me, THEY will change THE way how you are seeing EDUcation, and they will certainly make you moving for action! Action in and about <===> ModernEDU!

WHAT is Leadership actually and WHAT SHOULD it be in 21st Century!?

WE can’t ANYMORE relay on OLD Leadership as NOW WE have two different worlds: The Real-World and THE Virtual-World WHICH are influencing each other! Leadership needs to GET changed and WE have to adapt to it!

Leadership-Business Time-Global[START text from Business Time Zone Global Info] The architect leader knows that the ability to create a nourishing and challenging environment for people to grow in is more important than any technical skill she can possess.

Continuous Improvement – The leader of tomorrow will regularly challenge old beliefs and be passionate about learning and about applying that learning in the real world. She will often ask my favorite question “Who is doing something differently then I am and what can I learn from them?”

The New Leader is Authentic. How and who you are is just as important as what you know! Hold yourself to the highest standards – don’t talk the talk unless you are prepared to walk the walk. Don’t expect of others what you don’t expect from your self. Be real, tell the truth. The leaders that are the most revered are those that let the light of who they are shine through in all they do. They are honest, forthright and clear.

Coach/Facilitator – A leader needs to be a coach not a commander. He needs to hold space open for things to happen. It is said that when leaders do their job properly people believe they have done it themselves. Leaders are there to help people see things from a different perspective, to provide questions that encourage learning and to help turn work experiences into learning experiences.

Our new leader is a Visionary. It’s clearly documented that visionary leaders are successful at mobilizing human potential. A vision provides focus. It’s a tool for aligning energy. Clear vision and purpose provide people with a framework from which to make decisions, it organizes action and effort. [END text from Business Time Zone Global Info]

WHAT Are THE Skills Needed From Students In The Future!?

WHAT Are THE Skills Needed From Students In The Future!? OR, WHAT Are THE Jobs Look Like In The Future!?

That are actually questions which I get asked very often from people and where I could ask ONLY the first one! WHAT Are THE Skills Needed From Students In The Future!? Well, there is one well renown person WHO explains it BEST in my opinion, and that is Howard GARDNER. Please check the picture below to understand.

.

Synthesizing Mind-5 Minds for the future

.

When YOU have a closer look than YOU will realize that the <===> Synthesizing Mind <===> is THE major skill needed! I use it since ages in my courses and with a big success! Actually ALL my blogs and blog posts are based on it.

programmerman-animatedFacts to consider and advice:

YOU SHOULD explain that to YOUR LEARNers by designing the courses and tell THEM that they shouldn’t fear, that they should tell YOU when being in trouble, YOU should tell them that YOU take ALL the necessary time so that THEY will understand it, YOU should encourage them at any moment so that they will find the pleasure to LEARN 😉 YOU SHOULD use Empathy, observing them and find out WHO are those who are shy; the ones WHO won’t tell you when there is a problem. YOU SHOULD interact with them, looking over their shoulders and finding out WHERE the problem is.

That is the hardest part BUT the MOST IMPORTANT one as when they understood that they could find confidence in YOU, then they will advance in their LEARNing, THEY NEED confidence in YOU and in THEMSELVES!

Thus meaning: make the LEARNing individual! Take care of each person till they have understood it. It is like <===> differentiated instruction <===> EDUcation, BUT more coaching than teaching. In one phrase, differentiated instruction is primarily suiting instructional means to meet individual learning needs.

YOU can download the 3 pdf’s merged together here <===> 3 PDF’s-document_fusionne

.

The above mentioned could get updated by more actually, such as: collaboration, coaching, TEAMTEACHing, etc. for 21st Century Skills (left hand bottom). In upper-right corner YOU could add as well: videos, animations, comics, Skype, Webquests, etc.

How Are Leading Countries In EDUcation Implement This!?

Well, when WE talk about leading countries in EDUcation MOST think certainly about Finland in Europe, which is true! BUT, there are ALSO other countries worth to have a look on it and to learn from them, as well as Luxembourg in Europe who is starting its NEW EDUReform in September 2015! I will present YOU my favorites below from WHOM I learned a lot online:

Let us talk ALSO about the initiative of the European Commission <===> eSkills For Jobs 2015 <===> Learn more:

WHAT Are THE Jobs Look Like In The Future!?

Well, there is certainly no one WHO could answer that question! One can ONLY speculate about it: there will certainly be a lot of jobs who will be created because of Social Media, Internet of Things and Cyber Security; some certainly also from the MakerED industry an I guess that (my prediction) that the Cyber Hygiene sector would become the future jobs market as well! WHY in Cyber Hygiene!? WHAT is Cyber Hygiene anyway!?

As Cybercrime as also Cyberespionage, so as privacy problems will certainly NOT going away, it is important if not a MUST that the employees of companies are well trained about those risks! There is certainly a big market in training employees.

Evolution of Education: Wordle Logo

LEARNing To LEARN-Where To Start!?

In previous posts WE were discussing about the design of LEARNing for ===> DigitalCitizenShip <===, the different possibilities. Now WE will see about the How-To on where to start, my advice by PracTICE. Let us remember what was taught on previous posts.

.

PracTICE-21st-Century-Assessment-Flowchart-Page3-screenshot

Click the above image, please, to access the article.

.

Let us ALSO remember the MOST important, see below, please.

.

Synthesizing Mind-5 Minds for the future

.

SO, NOW where to start?

WE will use the following design to make sure to NOT FORGET something. The main topics are ===> Proactive THINKing <=== together with ===> Critical THINKing <=== AND ===> CyberSecurity <===. Remember the word ===> together <===, as it is part of an effective and efficient 21st Century EDUcation! More text explaining…+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

French (Français): Danger connu est danger vaincu ! Mieux vaut prévoir que valoir ! Un enfant averti en vaut deux. English: Forewarned is Forearmed! Deutsch (German): Gefahr erkannt is Gefahr gebannt! Vorsicht heisst die Mutter der Porzellankiste!

« Good habits formed at youth make all the difference. » Aristotle

YOU are STILL feeling YOUNG, aren’t YOU 😉

.

In ONLY ONE course YOU will LEARN about WHAT YOU need for 21st Century EDUcation, the way on How-To by using PracTICE, of course YOU will need to UPDATE as certainly there will be NEW techniques evolving 😉 ===> Professional Development <===.

.

By applying the here learned, YOU will know THE way for ===> LEARNing-To-LEARN <=== and being able to forward it to YOUR LEARNers.

In ONLY ONE course YOU will LEARN about WHAT YOU need for 21st Century EDUcation, the way on How-To by using PracTICE. WHEN getting used about the mentioned PracTICEs YOU can apply THEM on each course(s) YOU give…

.

.

FlowChart-Final-Version

Click the above image, please, to enlarge it.

programmerman-animatedALL the above in the design Flowchart will get used for the LEARNing about ===> DigitalCitiZENship <===.

My advice is to start first with OUR AND OTHERS protection (Proactive THINKing AND CyberSecurity) as WE need to stay secure  and safe before WE surf the world wide web, OR as one can say actually now the ===> wild wild web <===. It’s similar to sex, first the condom before the action 😉 OR first the vaccine before traveling to countries where WE know that there are serious risks to get infected!

WE will use my FREE courses below, it’s 100% PracTICE:

.

sharing-iconSecond would be the curation and I suggest the following topics:

.

Lots of stuff I learned.

.

WHY is curation so IMPORTANT!? Through curation YOU will build YOUR ===> “PKM” (Personal [Professional] Knowledge Management <===, check below, please for deeper LEARNing:

Thus meaning, through curation and by having build YOUR OWN PKM, YOU have created YOUR OWN database corresponding to YOUR way of LEARNing, YOUR choice of resources!

.

.

THE above mentioned are NOT ONLY promises, it is working well as it was made in PracTICE ALSO by @ICTPHMS, Mr. Dan KIRSCH. See ALSO OUR ===> Global-Collaboration <=== below, please:

The students (LEARNers) will acquire the following eSkills:

.

Synthesizing Mind-5 Minds for the future

.

PracTICE TIP

LEARNing from websites without having an internet connection:

Thought that YOU can’t access websites without an internet connection? THINK twice 😉

HTTrack is a free (GPL, libre/free software) and easy-to-use offline browser utility.

It allows you to download a World Wide Web site from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images, and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the original site’s relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the “mirrored” website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system.

Personal TIP: I used it to copy my online courses onto a USB-Stick, SO even when during a course there isn’t any internet connection (YES, that can happen…) YOU have every time YOUR backed-up version 😉 NO break of the courses!

.

students-workforceAND there are also the “Apps“, BUT don’t forget that THEY are ONLY facilitators, they are NOT the change in 21st Century EDUcation; THE change is applying the pedagogy and the 21st Century techniques together.

In the above mentioned links YOU will see how WE learned together in OUR ===> Global Collaboration Blog <=== by ===> Coaching <=== through using the “DM” (Direct Messages) from Twitter, YES WE used Twitter, it works perfect 😉 The same as WE used OUR blogs to communicate and to show OUR LEARNing to others, so that THEY could learn also from us.

Check ALSO the image below and read the “HORIZON REPORT: “2014 Higher EDUcation Edition“:

Digital CitizenShip: Social Media AND Privacy

programmerman-animatedI wrote already about “Privacy” on my blog posts Privacy In The Digital World-SHOULDN’T We Talk About It!?Smartphone pictures pose privacy risks and Often Asked Questions: Are There Cyber-Security Dangers With Apps And What’s About Privacy?, BUT I didn’t get enough into it to show YOU the How-To get protected MORE! That is what I will do here, so let’s GO for it 😉 As YOU know me, I will go for the BETTER solutions! I am online since 1998, got awarded in my country (for CyberSecurity & InternetSafety) and I am a very active person on Social Media twitter and facebook. Follow my experience and advice below, please, thanks.

Social Media is about sharing, right!? That’s WHAT it is mostly, BUT there are the HIDDEN commercial intents which MOST people don’t see (OUR Privacy is sold and OUR friends one too…) and there is ALSO OUR responsibility about it WHEN WE share, WE will discuss in detail here…

First of ALL, there isn’t ANYTHING for FREE in this world, even the death costs the life and a lot of money for the funerals 😉

SO… Let us analyse WHY WE get Social Media and other services on the internet for “FREE“. BTW: there isn’t anything for FREE, WE pay with OUR information which the companies are gathering!

.

WE Are The Product

It is important to know how tech companies generally track your data and what you’re agreeing to in those terms of service agreements. Check the infographic below, please to understand.

WHAT’S About Privacy With Apps In General!?

I wrote about it already in my blog post Often Asked Questions: Are There Cyber-Security Dangers With Apps And What’s About Privacy?, where YOU could grab some more information. I will present to YOU a FREE App what checks about the permissions, for iOS and Android, check below please:

.

You’d be surprised how many things an app can learn about you and what you do. Without you ever knowing it.

Clueful is the only way to really understand iOS apps, how they use your private data and treat your privacy. This one-of-a-kind product identifies intrusive applications and shows you what they do behind your back.

How Can Education Help To Lower Cybercrime?

programmerman-animatedA GOODDigital Citizen” knows about the tricks that cyber crooks are using and so when leaving the school THEY will be on ===> Awareness <=== when meeting the working force. Thus meaning, THEY will be prepared NOT to fall into the traps from the cybercriminals on their office, reducing so the attack surface for their employer. Thus meaning: Teaching about ===> Digital CitizenShip <=== is a MUST, where Internet Safety, basic knowledge of Cyber Security and Privacy MUST be included!

Here below the main links about WHAT to learn about:

TEACH the kids, students and learners ALSO about ===> Responsibility, Laws, Prison & Jail for NO respect of the laws!

The above mentioned knowledge AND skills are necessary (a MUST) to have; to give a minimum of attack surface to the cybercriminals! Less infected computers and devices = less cybercrime possibilities!

Awareness And Naivety, WHAT!?

1ibdy1vf6wghd-n05dgl-attenzionearchitettofr01First of ALL ===> WE MUST ACCEPT (its a fact) <=== that ===> Nobody Is Perfect!!! <=== Any OS (Operating System) is vulnerable as well as any device (Smartphones, USB, tablets…). NOR is there a completely ===> anonymity and privacy <=== possible! Check below please:

.

There is “Over Confidence” as it is exactly that! I don’t make a war of different OS, but one must be aware today that Nobody Is Perfect, attacks and vulnerabilities are showing us that, see here please:

Cyberattacks the greatest threat to nations

A MUST READ:

.

OK, I hear YOU already saying: WHAT do WE have to do with THAT!? Actually a lot! A lot of cybercrime is done by using so called ===> Zombies <===, infected computers and smartphones who are connected together in a so called ===> Botnet <===. But read more below in the proposed articles, please:

What is a botnet?

Click the image above to access the video, please.

.

WHO Are The Countries Who Host The Most Botnets!?

It is IMPORTANT to know who are the countries who host the MOST botnets (Botnet Control Servers), WHY!? Well, it is those countries who have to make BIG efforts to get rid of them and those countries SHOULD make MORE efforts in Education to teach people about Cyber Security.

.

Botnet Control Servers In The World

Click the above image, please, to access the article who explains in detail.

.

How A Botnet Is Created

programmerman-animated[Start TEXT from F-Secure] Bot programs can be planted on a machine or device in many ways. Machines or devices that have been infected by a bot are sometimes called ‘bots‘ themselves, or ‘zombies‘.

One common method for a bot program to get on a machine is when a harmful website the user is visiting silently looks for and exploits a vulnerability in the user’s system to install the bot on it. Other popular ways include sending the bot as a file attached to spam emails sent to the user, or as a program dropped from the payload of another malware.

Once the bot program is installed on the device, it will try to contact the website or server where it can retrieve instructions from the botherder. This site or server is known as the command-and-control (C&C) server.

An attacker with access to the C&C servers uses a client program to silently send instructions over the Internet (or another network) to the bot to perform various tasks, such as collecting data, monitoring the user’s actions and so on.

Commands can be issued to a single bot, or to all the bots in botnet. The attacker controlling the botnet is sometimes referred to as the ‘botherder‘, ‘operator’ or ‘controller’. [End TEXT from F-Secure]

How To Protect To NOT Become A Zombie!?

programmerman-animatedAs already mentioned above, “Zombies” are infected devices (any OS). Computers, smartphones and any device running an “Operating System (OS)” can have vulnerabilities and MUST get updated regularly! The same for any installed software programs, they MUST get updated regularly also! Any device and any OS MUST get protected by an Antivirus program. Please follow the advice below:

It is IMPORTANT, actually imperative to teach the kids about responsibility, about the existing laws, about WHAT is right and what is forbidden AND illegal!!! Laws were (and STILL are) created to protect the society… Anarchy isn’t reality in the real world and neither on the internet!
