21st Century EDUcation is LEARNing To LEARN for Life-Long LEARNing

programmerman-animatedIn a world where WE have to deal with “RealWorld” AND “VirtualWorld” (internet) and where both are influencing each other on an incredible, nearly impossible way of following, MOST people, especially in EDUcation get stuck!  THEY don’t know anymore WHAT’S going on, what to follow, and especially to find the appropriate way for teaching! WHO would blame them!? EDUcation didn’t follow and is since ages behind, BUT isn’t there a way of hope to design a <===> LEARNing Path <===> for it!? YES, there is!

WHEN WE focus on <===> Life-Long LEARNing <===>, (which is a MUST actually in a quick changing world), as the THE base and build it UP from there WE find a professional way! I propose YOU MY concept:

Check it out and GO for Deep-THINKing 😉

In 21st Century LEARNers Know THEIR LEARNing Path

WHAT is “Professional LEARNing”!? Well, it is DIFFERENT from normal (?) LEARNing  as it provides the Students, LEARNers THE “LEARNing Path” and shows THEM THE skills THEY will acquire by a <===> design <===> up from the beginning! This will prepare THEM for <===> Life-Long LEARNing <===> which THEY need after school! It uses ALSO <===> Social Media <===> to stay in contact with people of the same interests and to build UP a <===> PLN (Personal [Professional] LEARNing Network <===> to BUILD UP YOUR <===> PKM (Personal [Professional] Knowledge Management <===>. These “components” will prepare the students, learners for <===> Life-Long LEARNing!

THEY will acquire THE necessary ICT eSkills which THEY need to be prepared for the 21st Century workforce/labour. WITH ICT the Real World is CHANGING constantly and this VERY QUICKLY! EDUcation can’t catch up with that!

So, let us have a look on #HowTo design THE <===> Learning Path <===>, please check below.
.

Skills by Learning-By-Doing

.
In the above image YOU will see an example on How To create a design of a Learning Path for <===> Digital CitiZENship <===> WITH (on right-hand side) the skills the learners will acquire.

SO, the learners would see up from the beginning WHAT THEY will learn and WHAT are THE eSkills THEY will acquire, BUT it wouldn’t be yet 21st Century Learning if WE wouldn’t use THE possibilities which ICT gives us! Let us GO FURTHER and create an interactive image with it WHERE the learners could click on each path (Learning station) to  get directed to an already existing course to learn from it. I have done it here, please check it out below to get an idea about how it works.

Curation: The 21st Century Way To Learn On Its Own Pace And To Organize THE Learning?

Curation: The 21st Century Way To Learn On Its Own Pace And To Organize THE Learning?

Evolution of Education: Wordle Logo.

Curation: The 21st Century Way To Learn On Its Own Pace And To Organize THE Learning?

Already since 2011 I use Curation for my learning and through it I built my “Professional Knowledge Management“, called also PKM. But WHAT is Curation?

5-Steps-for-Content-CurationFirst I was wondering about this new trend and was not sure what to do with it, but after some research on Internet about it I found out that curation to me is the best way to collect articles which I select through quality criteria, which I can archive under different topics and which I find easily back through the “Tags”, as the “Tags” play the role of a table of content. For a Life-Long-Learner like me curation is like a treasure of knowledge and information that is getting shared through the online community.

Through curation one has the possibility to FREE online learning and through sharing it on Social Media to create a community with the same interests. This community is called a “PLN” (Personal [Professional] Learning Network).

Curation could also save people of same interests a lot of time and provides them with valuable content which could get used to link back to them in written articles, blogs, web sites and social media sites. Also one learns from each other in the curation community as one has the possibility to follow interesting curation.

As an ICT course instructor most of my curation is related to educational content and so I provide the curate content to an educational audience and to people who are willing to learn. Therefore I see curation also as help for a collective global learning and a contribution to a collective intelligence.

Read the full article here:

BUT, WHY and HOW do I use Curation for my PKM (Personal [Professional] Knowledge Management)?

Content Curation gives me the freedom to OWN my learning, through well chosen sources on the internet, and by giving them the right “Tags” it allows me to find the sources easily back later. BUT first of all I read the articles before I curate them, so I learn through the reading and as more often I do this as BETTER my brain gets trained to understand very quickly!

.

Learn more:

Curation itself is nothing new, since 1998 I used the same system already with Word documents (in my documents I used keywords at that time…) to create my own learning; curation platforms although have a nice user interface, integrated Social Media sharing options and a possibility for “Tags” creation, as also included statistics!

To me, Curation together with Social Media (especially twitter) and blogging is THE BEST way to learn and ALSO for teaching online!

Synthesizing Mind-5 Minds for the future

Through THESE daily routines I learn very quick!!

Learning to Learn is 21st Century Teaching and Learning Challenge!

Learning to Learn is 21st Century Teaching and Learning Challenge!

Learning to Learn is 21st Century Teaching and Learning Challenge!

Life Long Learning

In 21st Century we get that masses of information so  that it is nearly becoming impossible to follow them and especial to collect and understand them! Teachers and Educators have big problems with that and not to tell about the learners then…

So, first teachers and educators need to know How-To deal with such a situation before they would be able to teach their learners about it…

Don’t get stressed by the overwhelming data and don’t waste your time! There is a big need to stay very well organized otherwise we will loose the overview, but how!?

In this blog I will give you some tips on How-To which I use myself since years and who could be also useful to you “teachers” and “learners“, where the teachers are also learners as I am also, a Life Long Learner 😉

How-To stay organized

As already mentioned we we get that masses of information and we should first find out where we get the best information and then How-To manage that information so that it doesn’t take to much time efforts…

How to gather information on Internet who fits my topics?

help-books-aj.svgajash01-1First of all, where can we gather interesting information about topics of our interests? Later on you probably know this eternal problem also: you have found some interesting information which you would like to collect to find it back later… But how-to do? How to do on a way that you find it back very fast without browsing through your bookmarks of your browser, which mostly of time is bad organized anyway???

Best Tips

Using curation to get better organized and to learn

globe-pc
.
.
Google News gives you already an overview of your interested topics, but the results are a bit poor if not well filtred and you don’t have them saved 😦 as they change constantly…

A better way to get organized is the “curation“, thus meaning: you will use Google’s search engine results on a specific Topic and you make your choice about what you want to “keep” and that information you save it on a “curation service” such as (my favorites):

LEARNing To LEARN with ICT-How-TO? My PracTICE

As MOST of YOU know, I am an autodidact, a self-directed learner. I learn BETTER by doing it on my own, by searching my own articles, relevant to the topic which needs to get learned. Pursuing ALSO my learning by choosing the books which I decide to buy for my Professional Development! This time YOU will see a lot of “I’s” in my blog post here, different from usual, where I mostly use the WE. WHY!? Because it’s ME who is owning MY learning and I decide WHAT is BEST for me, that is working perfectly, I learn MUCH quicker! 😉

Another reason WHY I learn on my own is the BAD quality of courses around where adults are getting treated as pupils (Pedagogy) and NOT as mature persons (Andragogy)!! Aged 62 years (2017), I DON’T want to get treated as a 12 years old in courses, I won’t feel comfortable at all!! It’s about time that EDUcators, TEACHers, Instructors get training about ANDRAGOGY!

WHAT is Andragogy?

Text from Wikipedia: Andragogy refers to methods and principles used in adult education.[1][2] The word comes from the Greek ἀνδρ- andr-, meaning “man”, and ἀγωγός agogos, meaning “leader of”; it literally means “leader of man”, whereas “pedagogy” literally means “leading children”.[3]

Check out also my PracTICE, the How-To I gave courses for adults and seniors on Andragogy concept below, please:

You might be interested as well to find out about:

FIRST of all, DON’T fear about learning new stuff, even if it feels strange and NOT understandable up from the beginning! There might be strange words in the learning texts which YOU don’t know YET; but by reading different texts you will understand these words and later understanding ALSO the whole! I learnt that way, it takes time on the beginning, BUT later you will learn very quickly! It’s like an exponential curve

Personally I am convinced and PracTICE with students, learners showed me ALSO, that when owning its learning boosts learning and even accelerates it!! The learners are more motivated to learn as they are engaged in the learning process! I did THIS MOSTLY through Curation! Learn more below please:

Cyber-Security: THE stupidity of companies to ask (force!!!) for a 2FA authentication…

Cyber-Security: THE stupidity of companies to ask (force!!!) for a 2FA authentication…

THE stupidity of companies to ask (force!!!) for a 2FA authentication… BUT in the mood actually, WHY???!!!

WE are in 2020: It is well known THAT a 2FA authentication ISN’T anymore secure, proven by Cyber-Security experts and EVEN the FBI reported and sent out awareness posts!!!

SO, first of all let us find out about WHAT a 2FA is to make sure THAT WE understand WHAT WE are talking about, please check below for more information:

WHAT is happening NOW (January 2020)?!!! Companies like Twitter and Google (Gmail) are forcing people (users) to give THEM their smartphone number (telephone number) to create a new account and/or in case of any trouble with an account to ONLY get unlocked the account by giving THEM the telephone number, like Twitter does actually!!! WTF is THIS for an unethical behavior to force people (users) to GET THEIR phone numbers for WHAT EVER reason?!!! Check some screenshots below please…

.

.

THUS meaning: I can’t GET a Google Gmail account WITHOUT giving THEM my phone number, WTF is THAT???!!! THEY have already collected ALL my information, my behavior etc. and NOW THEY want ALSO to have my phone number under the guise of security, seriously???!!!

And WHAT’s about Twitter (as mentioned above)? THEY try out a new trick; one gets a message from THEM that one is detected as a robot behavior and considered as a Spam producer??!!! Really??? Well, this happens to me since 02 January 2020 ( a #HappyNewYear message…)!

.

.

Looks like Twitter’s algorithm ISN’T working well, as I didn’t break any rules! It is ONLY the 3d time that THIS is happening to me, BUT this time (08-01-2020) I didn’t get a return (reply) message from them after 6 days!!! Strange, looks like THEY will force me to unlock my Twitter account for the solely reason of getting my phone number, as I asked THEM to unlock my account manually, which didn’t happen till NOW!!!? THEY DON’T get my phone number, NO WAY!!!

OK, enough complained now: Let us have a look WHY I created THIS blog post to show YOU the stupidity of a 2FA authentication, check below please:

My last Twitter posts for information before I got locked my account by Twitter:

.

SO, dear readers, followers, friends: NOW you know for which reason you didn’t see ANY activity from me…

A stupid Twitter algorithm with a bad following HELP line(???)…

Will get updated IF something NEW…
