THE NEW Possibilities To LEARN AND Teach With ICT

THE NEW Possibilities To LEARN AND Teach With ICT

Evolution of Education: Wordle Logo

.

THE New Possibilities To LEARN AND Teach With ICT

First of ALL, WE need to THINK about OUR LEARNers, Students and WHAT skills THEY need to have in the 21st Century, NOT knowing WHICH are THE NEW jobs WHO could emerge, right!? Check below please.

.

what-skills-will-you-need-to-succeed-in-the-future_5061e259a60b6_w587

.

Known this NOW, WE have to THINK about the How-To WE as EDUcators, Teachers could provide THEM (LEARNers, Students) those skills, right!? FIRST lesson for TEACHers by using ICT is THAT TECHnology (Apps, programs…) isn’t THE MOST IMPORTANT! It’s <===> Pedagogy FIRST <===>, EDUcators, TEACHers MUST have an up-to-date <===> Professional Development <===> on it to know exactly WHEN to use the so called <===> EdTech Tools (Apps, programs…) <===> to make THEM wealth for effective TEACHing and LEARNing!

Well, please check my blog posts below please to understand BETTER:

.

Check out below on the <===> LEARNing To LEARN, please:

HOW Can WE LEARN About THE NEW Pedagogy!?

book-question-markWell, there are a lot of possibilities:

LEARNing Path For Professional 21st Century LEARNing By ICT PracTICE Concept

LEARNing2LEARN-2.

.

Over the years I developed and designed a possibility on the How-To use ICT for LEARNing and TEACHing which will prepare the LEARNers, students to fulfill the needs of the working market. It is mostly build up by coaching and NOT TEACHing as a <===> Win-Win situation is in mind and ALSO Collaboration <===> which are key factors in a modern society.

.

.

.

Let us first have a look on the How-To design a course which gives the learners, students some engagement as THEY could reproduce it themselves after YOU showed them the How-To and will bring in some creativity as well 😉

Framing in EDUcation

WE will NOT use ANYMORE THAT system as shown on left-hand side shown image, isn’t it 😉 WE will give OUR learners, students autonomy and coaching them to become <===> Life-Long LEARNers <===> by <===> LEARNing To LEARN <===> through collaboration, by using blogging, curation, Social Media and by putting them into the drivers seat. THEY will learn to take responsibility to survive in a bi-directional world (Real World and Virtual World are interacting…) and WE will coaching THEM as well to be responsible <===> Digital CitiZEN <===> by LEARNing about the basics of <===> Cyber Security <===> as well and ALSO about <===> eSkills <===> as it is THEIR world with ALL the problems present which THEY have to fight for and in it!.

.

Learn more:

Sounds like a lot, isn’t it!? It’s actually NOT that difficult when well organized and designed, please check below (it takes some time…):

Here is a road map for visual understanding 😉

.

Skills by Learning-By-Doing

Click the above image please to access the article.

.

My Personal View AND PracTICE

.

.

Framing in EDUcationMY experience described in ONLY some phrases: Give the LEARNers, students (whatever age) the freedom of LEARNing without squeezing THEM into a FRAME and concentrate on guiding them as a coach by analyzing THEIR behavior and show them the How-To to become self-directed learners, autodidacts. SHOW THEM ALSO up from the beginning WHAT THE <===> LEARNing Path <===> will be with design of it and explain THEM that they could design themselves it with a short introduction on the How-To. THEY will learn the ICT-PracTICE which will help them once out of the <===> #SchoolCocoon <===> to be ready for Life-Long LEARNing and to be able to adapt very quickly in the workforce! WHEN YOU show the LEARNers, students <===> WHAT the profit is for THEIR private life <===> YOU will engage them very quickly 😉 AND DON’T teach THEM more as necessary, propose them some links to go further ONLY for those who want!!

.

WHAT’S my message and WHY did I create this blog post!?

Well, I will encourage all youth and also adults, seniors, oldies to become <===>Life-Long LEARNers <===> and staying Up-To-Date with their knowledge, especially concerning their skills in ICT, called NOW <===> #eSkills <===>! In the modern world YOU will change YOUR job probably +/- 12 times in YOUR working career, it is very rare to stay life-long in the same job and/or same company!!! SO… The workforce is looking for people with ICT skills which YOU mostly didn’t learn at school, right!?

YOU won’t have (mostly) the time to learn by visiting courses, right!? START to become Life-Long LEARNers by LEARNing on YOUR OWN pace, by becoming <===> Autodidacts <===> Self-Directed LEARNers. YOU are able to, I did it, so can YOU!? 😉

I found a job because of my ICT eSkills and I am STILL LEARNing on a daily base routine for being Up-To Date with my <===> Professional Development <===>, even being retired NOW! THE pleasure of LEARNing!

I did THE <===> ICT PracTICE <===> and THAT’S WHAT the workforce needs!!!

Due to my eSkills I could share my knowledge AND expertise ALSO with the below mentioned as well as to a broad range of visitors from around the globe!

Check out my blog posts:

AND check my profile below as well, at the bottom of this blog post please! 😉

Internet safety is the responsibility of EVERYONE! It isn’t actually THAT difficult to apply a healthy behavior on the internet to stay secure, one needs to have some reflexes, daily reflexes… Let us call them <===> CyberHygiene <===> as they are about care anyway.

WHAT do WE have to take care about!? Check below please:

.

  • Updates about our “Operating System” (OS)
  • Updates about so-called “Third Party Programs”
  • Back-up from our files and/or the whole Hard Disk
  • Installation of protection-software, anti-malware, anti-spyware tools included…

With the internet WE have NOW two different worlds which interact to each other, the “Virtual World” and the “Real World”! There are NO walls anymore in the <===> #SchoolCocoon <===> as students, learners have access to OUTSIDE the schools through an internet connection. ALSO does the working force use the internet for commercial purpose, so the learners, students MUST know about how to use this in a responsible manner as wanting to GET a job… There will be a strict selection from work force on HOW NEW employees are aware of THAT!

Because of there is a LOT of , in AND ! Isn’t it!??? A NEW way of expression on a view!

As long as YOU are STILL THINKing (???) in a fixed frame as taught by OLD EDUcation, HOW will YOU LEARN the NEW!? How will YOU follow THAT quick CHANGE!? YOU CAN’T with linear learning!!! YOU would need 10 years to follow up, BUT THEN there will be ALREADY NEW things to learn again, and so on… Instead use the <===> Synthesizing Mind <===>, see PIC below, please.

.

Synthesizing Mind-5 Minds for the future

.

Framing in EDUcation

Check the above image and GO for #DeepTHINKING! Is THAT making YOU feel funny!???

THE OLD way of teaching is OUT!!!

Today is about coaching the students, learners toward for <===> LEARNing To LEARN <===> to become <===> Life-Long LEARNers as the world is turning much more quicker as WE can follow! SO… EDUcation can’t follow for sure and OUR students, learners need to know to learn to become independent and learn on THEIR OWN; they need to become autodidacts, self-directed learners!!!

WHAT Is eSkills? WHY Does The “e” Stand Before?

Manifesto: get an overview of challenges & opportunities outlined by experts .

[Start text from the MANIFESTO 2015] Much has been written about the digital skills gap and whether Europe is falling behind in the race for digital talent. After some spectacular declines in ICT education enrollments and graduate numbers in the first years of the new millennium, the European Commission developed a long-term e-skills strategy to reverse the worrying trend. Now, and since 2010, the number of ICT students is growing again. The good news today is that there are signs that the rate of growth is quicker than expected. [END text from the MANIFESTO 2015].

DO’S: WHAT Is An Advisory Board GOOD For Anyway!?

.

Wordle-Meetings-Gust MEES

.

Well, the name itself explains it, isn’t it!? It is a board with people WHO were chosen to give advice and THEIR experience, their professional knowledge to persons which degrees and diplomas might even be higher, BUT WHO don’t have these competencies as the members of the Advisory Board have! THE Advisory Board might ALSO have higher degrees, competencies and diplomas as from those where they are in (Government, schools, EDUcation…).

Those chosen people in the Advisory board give advice for a BETTER way as it is actually, otherwise they wouldn’t have any existence right, isn’t it!? 😉

Learn more:

THE most IMPORTANT is that the Director Board CAN LISTEN to the members of the Advisory Board and NOT take constructive criticism personal by straight answering on an opponent view, NOR to see these persons as enemies!

An Advisory Board is an enrichment for any organization as collective intelligence is getting used to GO for BETTER!

Learn more:

.

sharing-iconTo get feedback, you have to be open to feedback. This sounds obvious, but it’s very easy for people to ignore feedback or not ask for it at all. To be truly open to feedback, you have to acknowledge the possibility that you’re wrong or that a better solution exists. The key is to view feedback as additive instead of competitive.

The key is to look at the viewpoints being offered, in any successful feedback group, as additive, not competitive. A competitive approach measures other ideas against your own, turning the discussion into a debate to be won or lost. An additive approach, on the other hand, starts with the understanding that each participant contributes something (even if it’s only an idea that fuels the discussion—and ultimately doesn’t work).”

.

The above mentioned is ALSO valuable for any sort of meetings.

.

There are commercial programs existing to organize meetings, check a non exhaustive list below, please:

And WHAT about Online Video Conferencing programs?

Pixar’s success isn’t an accident. They’re successful because they’ve mastered meetings. Learn what makes them so effective.

DON’TS In An Advisory Board!

dunce-hat-170.

.

SO… as mentioned above these people are respected people for THEIR competencies, experience, innovative minds and valuable insights! WHEN those people are getting treated as 12 years old persons, thus meaning: by Pedagogy based meetings instead of Andragogy based meetings they will feel offended!

.

Learn more:

AND when YOU make reports where invited members from the “Advisory Board” (adults and seniors) get marked (like in school) as “Not Excused“, “Excused“, “Present” in the reports, OH MY GOD!!!

Here below such a (fictive) report WHO shows the “presences“, names and companies are hidden, ONLY marked by color (organizer, members…).

.

excused-present

.

In the above fictive example the following colors mean:

  • RED is regular members of the Advisory Board
  • Orange-Brown are members of the Organization
  • Green are PRESENT members of the Advisory Board

When YOU have a look on the above fictive sheet you will remark that ONLY 6 members from the Advisory Board from a total of 32 members were present and 4 members of the Directory Board. This means a presence of ONLY 12.5%! In such a case as demonstrated above with the fictive presences sheet, the responsible people of the Directory Board should ask themselves WHAT is the reason of such a minor presences!?

The Board Directory members should be OPEN to these advice and NOT take it personal, nor being stubborn by NOT <===> listening and understanding them. <===> They should be OPEN for questioning the WHY these advice to engage discussions and let people express it also…

DON’T make an enemy attitude AGAINST persons which gave the organization constructive criticism, NOR let them show YOUR enemy attitude when YOU meet them outside in private life! DON’T consider THEM as YOUR employees which YOU want to control and dominate, they are FREE and OUT of YOUR control anyway!

.

some will NEVER get it

 Recommendations

programmerman-animatedThe above mentioned is resulting as my experience in 40 years in the workforce/labor and also in managing positions where I was present in more than 100 meetings , without counting the meetings and congresses which I was leading in my sports career as president of a sports federation and president of a club. I followed special courses about:
.
  • Conflict Management
  • Sales Management
  • How to lead a team
  • In German: Kommunikation, Sich selbst und Andere führen, Konfliktbewältigung (Firma Klaer-Werk in Trier [DE]) von DIPL. PSYCH. Alex HENNING  und DIPL. PSYCH. Stefan LEHNHOFF (2001)
    • Communication
    • Listening to others
    • Empathy
    • Not creating underdogs
    • Win-Win situation

sharing-iconIt is STRONGLY recommended that persons WHO hold the meetings, especially the main speaker and responsible one visit courses about the how-to of holding meetings and especially courses about “Conflict Management” to ensure a professional behavior in such meetings. Problems could get avoided before they occur through <===> Proactive THINKing <===>!

Learn more:

I advise ALSO, this is nearly a MUST in the 21st Century while using ICT, THE letter “C” <===> Communication:

  • To create a discussion platform (Forum) where the members of  the “Advisory Board” can discuss together…
  • To create a curation platform where the members of the “Advisory Board” can curate content which will be of benefit for the Director Board
  • Consider to make an “Advisory Board” where active and passive people from the workforce/labor are ALSO integrated. Especially retired persons as they can speak FREE without fear as NOT anymore in the system 😉
