SO… How to explain it visually and non-technically?

I am getting asked very often from persons about “What is Social Media?” So, I try every time to explain it visually to persons by using examples from real life and not on the technical way, people understand it better then…

But let us first look at a very well realized video below and then I will explain to YOU how I see it and how I explain it to people who never were using Social Media, but who are interested to know about and also willing to learn about to use it perhaps one day…

So, here my version on how I explain it to people:

.

sharing-iconImagine that YOU are in a social place such as a Café, a Pub or other places (doesn’t matter which one…) and that YOU are talking to other people, YOU are involved in a discussion, right? So far nothing unusual, BUT imagine NOW that in any corner of these places are installed microphones and/or video cameras who are broadcasting YOUR conversations and sharing them worldwide, that’s Social Media! OH, sorry, I forgot to say that the people who see it can also react on WHAT YOU say as it is a “Two-Way“, a bidirectional process! Got it 😉
