Let us talk about Hygiene…

Strange, I make an introduction about Hygiene in an Cyber-Security Blog, ISN’T it?!! Well, there is a reason behind:

WHEN WE use a computer, Smartphone and/or any OTHER technical device (such as cars as well…) WE need to take care of them! AND our body? The same: WE need to have the daily reflexes to make for sure that WE don’t expose it to invasions of bacteria, virus, etc. Examples given: brushing teeth, showers, washing the hands after a toilet go, washing the hands before and after a meal, etc. Wearing a Condom when having sex, a necessary protection! Well OUR condom for the technical devices is the Anti-Virus, a MUST for Any-devices!!! Any-Devices, Apple as well?!!! YES!!! Please check the WHY in my Curation below please:

WE are used to these reflexes, aren’t WE?! At least WE should be!! SO, for computers, Laptops, Smartphones, tablets (iPads etc.), IoT devices (Smart-Home), WE should do the same, they costs a LOT of money and expensive stuff should get taken care of!! THE OTHER reason as well is, THAT WE are using the internet with THEM and so WE are meeting OTHER people with OUR technical device (which ever one it is…).

SO, that exactly the same as WHEN WE are meeting (as persons) OTHER people in Real-World: WHEN WE have a flu, WE will infect OTHER persons with it and an epidemic will occur!! WHEN OUR technical devices (which ever one it is…), connected to the internet, are NOT Up-To-date with the latest Updates they are vulnerable to threats (see it as a virus, e.g.) and once infected, WE will infect ALL the OTHERS as well (epidemic…)!!

As WE use these #AnyDevices with #AnyOS on a daily base, WE SHOULD be aware and develop a sense of Responsibility to protect each other!

ICT RESPONSIBILITYWell, the above written is ONLY an introduction, please read my Blog posts in different languages (EN, FR, DE):

My courses about Cyber-Security were mandatory in Luxembourg (Europe) EDUcation in 2004, learn more here please:

ONLY Internet-Safety And NO Basics Of Cyber-Security Education In Schools!?

ONLY Internet-Safety And NO Basics Of Cyber-Security Education In Schools!?

.

Evolution of Education: Wordle Logo.

ONLY Internet-Safety And NO Basics Of Cyber-Security Education In Schools!?

programmerman-animatedGovernment and Education MUST be digital illiterates when NOT accepting that it is time for TEACHing the basics of Cyber-Security! By reading the reports of experts from the professional companies from Cyber-Security protection software, one MUST accept the facts that Cyber-Crime is evolving at a very rapid rate! Cyber-criminals learned How-To trick the users and THEY are inventing every day NEW tricks to trick THEM (US ALL), BUT Education and ALSO the Government are NOT YET ready to counter such actions!

WE have to ACCEPT that (that are facts!!!)  20% of all malware ever created appeared in 2013 and THAT there are 31.53 % infected computers worldwide!!! That MUST give people a kick for Deep-Thinking! In 2013 alone, cyber-criminals created and distributed 20 percent of all malware that has ever existed, with a total of 30 million new malicious strains in circulation, at an average of 82,000 per day. Check article below, please:

Isn’t it time to introduce in Schools as a MAIN core ===> LEARNing the basics of Cyber-Security <=== as WE are ALL using computers and ===> BYOD <=== (Bring Your Own Device) and actually ALSO using Mobile-LEARNing and e-LEARNing!? WE can’t anymore bury the heads in the sand and NOT wanting to see the problems! THE reality is there and it can’t get fought ONLY by giving the IT-Admin of the school THAT responsibility, that is pure NONSENSE and a Middle Ages mentality, excuse-me, please!

==========> WE are ALL responsible for a secure internet! <==========

.

How Could This Be Realized And Up From Which Age?

programmerman-animatedI suggest to teachInternet-Safetyup from the age of 5 years old and the basics ofCyber-Security to the kids up from the early age, 8 years old! THEY would be able to understand how to get used to reflexes! These reflexes SHOULD get repeated once a week. I suggest the Friday as I started it ages ago already on Social-Media Twitter. It is called the ===> Friday Security Check Day <=== and the Hashtag for it is ===> #FSCD <=== SO, as it is under the age of the terms of use from Twitter, parents need to get involved as well to help THEIR kids to become GOOD “Digital Citizen” and by the same way the parents will learn also and with that COLLABORATION WE are on the winning side to make the internet a more secure place! Everybody will profit from it 😉

SO… WHAT’S About Basic Cyber-Security Knowledge NOW As It Is Mentioned As Well!?

programmerman-animated.

That’s actually the easiest part of it, MOST of YOU think that it is the MOST difficult one, BUT it isn’t at ALL 😉 It’s ONLY based on reflexes and a one-time installation of software on YOUR computers (Smartphones included…).  Please check my following blog posts and YOU will see how easy it is:

Understanding The Internet: A different Approach

Understanding The Internet: A different Approach

Understanding Internet-Internet, the virtual savant child

Internet is a “living producttechnique! To be viewed as a “childto be educated by millions of people simultaneously, with different traditions and languages, with different mentalities and this in real time.

“The child” Internet, with instant contributions from users around the world (all of us) will be “fed” so + / – “textual” and “audio-visual”. The quality of this “food” is dependent on ourselves, our contributions to the community!

This “child” Internet, is gathering all the knowledge of the world and we shall get an answer, as soon as we ask it, of course!

Character, honesty and credibility of this “child” is formed by those who educate it. Those who educate, are necessarily all of us, everyone, the community!

I hope that this practice visualization, pushes you to think a bit further and THAT it helps you to better understand and / or better-learn Internet!

.

Understanding the internet-QUOTE-12-2014

.

===> There are no problems, only solutions! THE Whole (Community), WE will find the right solution! <===

Nature shows us (bees, ants) and history too. Misstep learn from the past and try to “set” to do better! Internet is the perfect tool for this, but beware, it’s us (community) that are building it! WE, those who feed and educate this “savant child“!

When I say “WE“, it means: our character, our beliefs, our weaknesses, our honesty, in short, our whole being. Internet, THE  “virtual savant child” is the product of our entire society!

Internet is THE “virtual savant child“, created by the world!

.

Savant

.

Internet The Revolution, A New Mass-Media

As at the time the TV was as new means of communication, today a new mass media just appeared . Internet, mass media apart, which “a priori” has nothing extraordinary, but is it true ? No, certainly NOT. We have to do with a bi- directional mass media (two-way). Until now we used to click a button to access the music and multimedia content (stereo , TV, etc. .), BUT WE could not communicate with these technical devices , WE were only transmitter. Now , with the Internet it is different.

.

Through actions and also a click (a button on the mouse) WE can do a lot with technique, involves writing texts, receive answers back …

===> WE are both transmitter and receiver. <===
.

WE all newborns in the virtual life like in the real world, there are people who have more knowledge and experiences , which does mean that WE all must follow a lifelong learning

.

Learn more:

.

Internet, freedom of expression and total anarchy?

.
.

ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), are now irreplaceable and necessary in a changing world with new technology.

.
.

A technology that is reflected in our real world, and both influence each other!
.

Please NOTE: concerning Internet and its use there are many laws (must accept…)! And above all respect! This is comparable to our real world …
.

Also see my blog:

“Computer mafia” (the bad boys) works very fast and it takes advantage of the non vigilance and lack of knowledge of Internet users (ourselves)! It is not only security software that can help secure and protect our computers , but first we must know how to use them too!

.

Well yes, that’s us, the users of our computers (whereby smartphones and tablets are ALSO computers…) and the Internet, who are responsible and who will be more accountable in the future! .

.

===> A “CLICK” solution, as with a remote control at home, does not exist and never will be invented to ensure 100% security. <===
